The tour of Vatican Museum with Papal Audience will be a unique and exciting experience. Every Wednesday the Pope invites the public into the main square or Basilica chapel for blessing. We will collect your tickets before the event and lead you to the best seats. We know exactly where he arrives so you will be able to have the perfect view. With the help of his Bishops, he will bestow a blessing upon you in multiple languages and provide inspiration for you to remember all your life.
After the Pope’s address, our tour of Vatican Museum with Papal Audience will enter into the Vatican Museum. The museum is the second largest in the world with over 4 miles of Renaissance art, papal gold, statues, and other worldly treasures. Too much to see at once, our expert guide will lead you to the most important works including Raphael, Rosselli, and of course, Michelangelo.
After a bit of historical time-traveling, move your eyes from the walls to the ceiling where you will find the Story of Genesis depicted in pictures. This is the famed Sistine Chapel, an expansive ceiling painted by the master artist Michelangelo. At the very center you will see the internationally recognized depiction of God reaching for Adam. As you strain your neck looking up at the 40-foot high artwork, imagine yourself as Michelangelo laying on his back painting the scenes during the four years of realization. Impressive!
Important- Entering the Vatican requires a strict dress code. Shoulders and knees should be covered, no shorts. Please respect dress code at the Vatican and all other Italian churches.
After the museum and chapel, the tour of Vatican Museum with Papal Audience will lead you through a privileged entrance directly into St. Peter’s Basilica. Our tour lets you skip the long lines outside the Basilica and leaves you to stroll through the largest church in the world at your leisure. Inside you’ll get a close up view of the Pope’s seat illuminated by countless stained glass windows.
After the Basilica, you are free to independently climb the dome which provides an unprecedented view of Vatican City, the Tiber river, and Castel Sant’Angelo. Highly recommended!
Our guides are highly qualified English speakers with the possibility of other languages as well, upon request.
