After a bit of historical time-traveling, thanks to the Vatican Museum Tour you can move your eyes from the walls to the ceiling where you will find the Story of Genesis depicted in pictures. This is the famed Sistine Chapel, an expansive ceiling painted by the master artist Michelangelo. As you strain your neck looking up at the 40-foot high artwork, imagine yourself as Michelangelo laying on his back painting the scenes during the four years of realization. Impressive!
After the museum and chapel, Vatican Museum Tour will lead you through a privileged entrance directly into St. Peter’s Basilica. Our tour lets you skip the long lines outside the Basilica and leaves you to stroll through the largest church in the world at your leisure. Inside you’ll get a close up view of the Pope’s seat illuminated by countless stained glass windows.
Important- Entering the Basilica requires a strict dress code. Shoulders and knees should be covered, no shorts. Please respect dress code at the Vatican and all other Italian churches.
After the Basilica, Vatican Museum Tour allows you to be free and to independently climb the dome which provides an unprecedented view of Vatican City, the Tiber river, and Castel Sant’Angelo. Highly recommended!
Our guides are highly qualified English speakers with the possibility of other languages as well, upon request.
